Gladys Puglia

Community Organizer

Gladys Puglia, a community organizer with Make the Road NY, shares her story of tenant organizing for Latino and working class communities in Bushwick. In this Spanish interview, she reflects on her background in Ecuador, immigrating to New York, and her own experience of being offered and refusing a buyout for her rent-stabilized apartment. Since then, Gladys has helped organize a tenants’ rights support group of Spanish-speaking local residents for MTRNY where they are facilitating a movement against buyouts in Bushwick.
